Hi Penny
I meant to email you a few weeks ago to let you know outcome from 'cat pastel' so very sorry for delay
As you may remember it was for my friend's 70th birthday. She was totally lost for words and we even had a few tears and said it was the best present (apart from her engagement ring) she had ever had. Since losing her husband a few years ago the cats are a big feature in her life. I had it framed and end result was really beautiful.
Thank you again and as I said before 'till next time'
Regards
Celia

Hi Penny,
I'd just like to drop you a line to say what a wonderful addition your paintings are to some of the empty buildings in Deal at present. They are an absolute delight and turn 'derelict' into 'joyous'. It's particularly noticeable that the Quarterdeck looks more alive now with your paintings punctuating the sea-facing wall than ever it did when it was open! I find myself looking out for the paintings as I drive around Deal - they always make me smile. Thank you so much for brightening up our built environment - it makes Deal look cared-for while these buildings are boarded up. I am sure they have and will continue to contribute to the recession-beating prospects of Deal - an attractive town does just that - attracts people. Those people will spend money in Deal, probably make return visits and tell their friends.
Many thanks again for your initiative and sharing your talent,
Regards

St Richard's Road, Deal
(following the spate of closures and boarded up buildings in 2009 in Deal, I feared that our visitors would abandon us if we didn't fight back and do something about the decline of the High Street. Now, January 2014 we have won the Telegraph prize for best High Street!)
Dear Penny,
We are all thrilled with the painting you did so well for us.
By the way, for your archives: the sitter is Francois Feuillat, a Belgian-born partner in a US law firm. The location is St. Jean Cap Ferrat, Cote d’ Azur, France.
Kind regards,
JP

Hi Penny, feedback and fanmail... Don't get too swell-headed but your portrait of me is a big hit! The email, pasted below, from Graham Gadd (retired news editor of the Daily Mirror) is typical.
Wendy and Ian Goldup asked if the portrait would be shown in the Arty Party. I said I didn't know but I would get in touch as they would very much like to see it as they think it is an absolutely fantastic likeness of me. Perhaps you could show it at the party if it hasn't already gone to London, that is.
Looking forward to Wednesday
Harold
Dear Old Friend,
You have a rare and magical gift...the ability to create your own Worlds and people them with fascinating characters.
I have just read the piece about the Lady Artist and your Portrait.
I can't ever remember seeing a portrait of you before PAINTED by an Artist. All I can say is that, judged from the version in the "Mercury", it looked extraordinarily good, a glimpse of you seen by another eye.
As long as I have known you (a mere 58 years?) you have always had this unique ability to create Worlds and people them. Whether by water diviner's twig, some long ago instinct passed down to you from Prehistoric man, or maybe because you are such a fine Journalist...you seem to home in on them as though they were the very North Foreland lighthouse.
With you around to bring the best out of them I think Deal can not be a dull place these days.
Any more around like this Lady Artist?
Keep smiling,
Graham

Dear Penny, Just wanted to say a big 'Thank You' to you for the beautiful portrait of 'Jake' our beloved Springer Spaniel.
He was a wonderful pet and friend to the whole of our family and kept us all fit with his long walks especially at the seaside. He is sadly missed.
What a wonderful surprise on our Golden Wedding Anniversay to receive this treasure which captures his personality and physique.
You are so gifted to have painted such a fantastic likeness of 'Jake' especially his eyes. A big thank you both to our family who visited you in Deal with photographs of Jake and especially to you.
Thank you again,
Pat and David Seymour
Hi Penny. Just to say thanks again for awakening my enthusiasm for painting. Its a Public Holiday here today but I am going to the local town to get myself some oil paints tomorrow and then try my hand with that medium. Regards to the "Thursday Group"
