Herne Bay Cultural Trail Mural Project
Herne Bay Town Partners won a "people's millions" grant in 2007 from the Big Lottery in association with Meridian TV to create a cultural trail around the town. Three murals are being created by Penny Bearman, this page charts their progress...

LAYERS OF TIME
This mural is about the history of Herne Bay. It is to be positioned on the side of the Herne Bay Council Offices and swimming pool, facing the town's Central Car Park.
The Coloured layers represent different eras of Herne Bay's history, from pre-history through Saxon, Roman, Smuggling, War time, Edwardian,Victorian, to the popular holiday destination that it is today.
